@dansup With pixelfed, mastodon, etc, the average user needs to learn a few different concepts and behaviors to use with greater benefit and control over current technologies experience. All are capable, just as they learned current technologies a few decades or years ago.

I am old toad and put in plenty of time gently helping friends and family accommodate to some new technologies for keeping socially connected and communicating. (Limited use of phone capabilities is draw back)

@wdlindsy Yes agree, Maga dominates the information social media ecosystem and it was a critical tool for political success last Fall. Fox TV, Joe Rogan podcast, X, Facebook all "flooded the information zones" daily with lies and false narratives. Corporate mainstream media were enablers as well, failing to critically question all the Maga lies and normalizing it.
What is important is that this was a "bloodless coup" by GOP/Maga, using information/cyber warfare and lawfare tools.

@vicgrinberg @kathhayhoe I think her Masotodon interpretation is not accurate . Here she gets a critical questioning dialogue from mainly diverse individuals. I follow her on Linkedin and there the comments are pretty negative about unrealistic climate change costs, not practical, insurmountable political obstacles, etc. Mostly made by corporate types, climate change business hustlers, and government officials.
