I find it so funny that there’s a business practice called “blitz-scaling” which is a reference to the military tactic of Blitzkrieg.@h you’re not wrong! However, it’s definitely a reference to the German army tactic. Blitzkrieg was when the military would extend their troops beyond their supply line limits in order to surprise the enemy. By using this tactic, they could have first control and therefore allow time for the supply lines to catch up. Conventional tactics would have the supply lines come with the troops.
This manoeuvre is incredibly risky because, well, if you get cut off by the opposition then you have no way out because you have no supply lines… And even if you do get there, you have no supply lines for a while, and therefore no resources or troop relief.
In this way “blitzscaling” is moving so fast and so quickly without a sustainable resource supply (ie money) in order to capture the market and make it difficult for your opposition (be it rivals or the government) to take you down, with the hopes that your total domination would bring in lots of cash for you to use.

Did these marketers forget that… Uh. Blitzkrieg didn’t really work out all that well for the country that pushed it?

turns out the infamous "yaseen" bug was due to relays- popular users would often be caught in a race for how notes got ingested from relays, where if a relay delays it first somehow it gets skipped@julia what does this mean

Just finished speaking to my new boss!Just finished speaking to my new boss! She is really cool, she seems like an effective manager. She knew all the stuff she wanted from me and answered all my questions. She has that older millennial manager vibe to her.
So I should have a start date pretty soon, once People Services do their part, and then she’ll talk to my current manager to ensure a smooth transfer of Yaseen.

I remember during the Euros that there were people who wanted Spain to win over England, as if it was penance for colonialism without realising that Spain was undoubtedly the first European country to do a colonialism.

the French have real record-breaking HSR since the *fucking 80s* -
the French have real record-breaking HSR since the *fucking 80s*@rail_ the Pendolino runs at 200 km/h here, even though they’re capable of operating at 225 km/h. This is because after 200 km/h, the in-cab signalling system needs to change or something? So nobody wants to pay for that so now the max speed on the network (outside of Eurostar) is 200 km/h, even though trains and track are designed to handle up to 225 km/h

Hey uh.Hey uh. Weird thought but. Why does every house I’ve been to (in the UK)… Have the kitchen sink face out onto a window?
Like… When you’re washing dishes… You look out of the window… Why does the kitchen sink always end up next to a window inside a British house?
