@octothorpe @morrick I mean, that is _a_ solution, but personally I love these dumb circles for little nuggets of information like this. It’s there all the time but never in my face.

Pretty nice that the Lock Screen widget for rain in iOS 18 now shows when it’s expected to rain next… too bad they completely dropped the ball on making sure the localised strings fit in it. -

The Finnish language doesn’t have short and easy prepositions you could use here.

If you are a developer on a mac who uses VSCode, just stop, and start using Nova by @panic. Your soul will thank you.@octothorpe @panic Funny you mentioned that. Just today I had to do something in VSCode but at the same time I had Nova open for another thing, and all I could think of was “man, how is Nova just so much nicer?”
(I know, it’s a native Mac app built by people who care, whereas VSCode is a piece of confusing blob built on top of Electron.)

It’s like the Snow iMac G3 and the PlayStation hooked up. Such a cool aesthetic.https://mastodon.world/@obsoletesony/113126051992600658It’s like the Snow iMac G3 and the PlayStation hooked up. Such a cool aesthetic.

Music streaming apps not showing the name of the album in the player screen is a trend I wish would pass. It’s an integral part of the metadata and it’s more often than not absent from the album art (and what is album art these days anyway).Music streaming apps not showing the name of the album in the player screen is a trend I wish would pass. I’ve had a small part in it, helping out to define some of the user interactions as well as creating a completely new set of sounds to go together with those interactions… so I guess this would count as my first album release?
Shoutout to our truly fantastic teams who made it all happen, and there’s more to come

It’s been watching us from the box art for a long time, but today was finally the day we started building our Lego Tuxedo Cat. And there’s still plenty of today left – let’s see how far we get.My current idea is to build one of those #HomeAssistant-compatible voice assistant speakers that would fit in, allowing me to give him a “voice” (“greatest hits” of cat meows from the internet maybe?) and react to people around him through the mmWave radar that’s already in the same room. Nothing too crazy.

And there’s still plenty of today left – let’s see how far we get.The build of the Lego cat is pretty fascinating. It seems they deliberately used varying ways to put things together instead of going for the most straightforward, obvious solution, just to make things interesting and not too repetitive. Perhaps to “flex” too. Which makes sense, you’re supposed to have fun building, not just end up with the finished thing.
The cat also has a hinged hatch in his back to access the rather generous inside space, and has me thinking of what to do with it…

He’s still a bit shy so he likes to hide behind the TV.

Not sure if this yet counts as #caturday
