Finnish court has confiscated 40 properties of the russian state worth "tens of millions" across Finland, including sites near Finnish Army bases, to enforce an earlier decision stating that russia owes 4 billion euros damages to Ukraine. This may be the first case in Europe targeting state properties rather than that belonging to individuals or companies.

Now I'm curious about NK military hierarchy. Now I'm curious about NK military hierarchy. How many colonels fit between the company lieutenant and those generala? And do you think NK sent their best officers?
"The GUR reported that North Korea has transferred roughly 12,000 North Korean personnel, including 500 officers and three generals, to Russia"

It's always a pleasure to see a popular Threads account with fediverse-sharing enabled.@Gargron
The same is true for Bluesky bridge. It's very cool it exists, and it's also cool there is an opt-in mechanism. However the implementation of opt-in matters. The simplistic approach breaks discoverability, mentions, ability to communicate, all of which would also be possible to solve with little extra effort and no loss to the privacy aspects. -
It looks to me like Bluesky is now roughly neck and neck with the fediverse in terms of users (~12M each).@laurenshof
Even more relevant is retention rate because it predicts future direction. Bluesky has spiked above 5 million MAU recently but seems to be losing those accounts at rapid clip. That's not terribly surprising - viral floods very rarely stick long term. Fedi (or at least Mastodon) has stuck around 2 million for most of the year, much smaller upward spikes but also much lower churn rate.

The US election's in a few weeks & I'm voting for Jill Stein.@ashleygjovik
Stein is a documented putinist. Her only objective is to appear as a candidate in order to disrupt democracy. The evidence for this goes back decades.

Would be remiss to not mention that Hometown, which is a "light" Mastodon fork supports the Article post type and has no issues rendering long form.
