I've been "composting" since maybe early 2023, as in, I've had the compost bin, and I've been filling it since then. I have a couple of bokashi bins, which I put most of my food waste into, and then once it's "done", it goes into the outdoor compost bin. As well as that, I put in all my grass clippings, and every time one of my herbs are done, if they're an annual, then the soil goes in as well. I don't massively pay attention to quantities or proportions, although I'm aware that people do.This is the first time I've actually used the compost, and am pleased with it. I'm not sure, honestly, how much of the loamy soil is just the soil from previous pots, but never-the-less, I'll take it. I've filled up one of my planters with it, using the "lasagne" method - cardboard, then grass clippings, then some of the compost plus some shop-bought potting soil, then I've applied a layer of dead palm leaves to attempt to keep weeds down.I'll let it settle for a bit before planting anything in it. I'm thinking sprouting broccoli, possibly.
