so Firefox is abandoning 32-bit systems in 2025, because obviously none of those would ever need to run a decent browser...anyway, i guess i'll hang onto the last 32-bit ESR as long as i can, and hope someone else takes it up - just as they did Seamonkey, which remains available fo 32-bit systems even nowbut after that - gods know what i'll do. probably do the thing i've been meaning to do for ages - run firefox on a central machine with a ridiculous amount of memory, and VNC into it from my remaining machines... the irony being that without having to keep 32-bit userlands around to run firefox - because i can't trust it not to go on a RAM spree on Linux and freeze the OS if it can see over 32 bits of addres space - i'd have no concerns about going 64-bit on them tooto anyone who might know: i believe NetBSD forbids overcommit. is that correct? and does firefox run any better there than it does on Linux, where it becomes sullen and uncooperative with overcommit off?
