You don't need a PWA to get push notification. There are providers like FCM, OneSignal etc.

What you will need is a NodeBB plugin. Kindly make a plugin request or ask quote for a custom plugin.

I am not sure. You can either hide a thread/category to a group or allow it. Not able to do selectively. Wait for further replies.

Other than layout and comments system, NodeBB and a blog are more or less similar, right ? Maybe, thumbnail image is the only thing missing.

I see. Human bots are impossible to stop.

NoCAPTCHA is the most efficient against spam bots.

It might have something to do with errors occurred during installation.

NodeBB could do well with official plugins for store, blog etc. Currently, I don't think one exists.

Installing NodeBB on a VPS with dependencies installed is very easy. You need to type a few commands in the terminal. The skills you would need is almost same as ability to copy paste commands from available tutorial. Try Ubuntu as OS. Good luck.
