I don't know if I am correcting you. But, on an Android mobile, a PWA works just like an app, using minimal resources. For eg, you visit this forum on mobile browser, it gives the user an option to save the " app " which is a web app to mobile home screen. Though it acts like a bookmark, there are options like notifications, uninstall etc available.

You would need to add a Service Worker and upload some SDK specific files to web server to achieve this.

I guess having a branded smilie set is a trade mark kind of stuff for each forum script. I appreciate the intention of using Emoji for smilies but NodeBB has grown big enough to have it's own smilies. Your thoughts please...

Not sure about chat but I was able to browse on Airtel 2G on stock NodeBB without issues. I cannot pin point but it could be something related to your customizations. I could be terribly wrong though.

Use this command and restart NodeBB. You can then check which all plugins you want to activate. You can remove if a particular plug in causing the issue.

Is there any chance of a PWA version availability for NodeBB ? Progressive Web Apps ( PWA ) are getting very popular these days for it's cross platform usability.

If you want to take a good look at available plugins, install NodeBB and check the plugin list through ACP.

In case of forums with lot of boards, the long list of latest post will drive many boards to a reach only by scroll area. It may act counter productive. May be we should have plugin or built in feature using which the member will see on the tiles and on mouse over, the latest posts list can appear like a drop down menu. We can even add an option to pin it, if a member is interested in what is happening in a few boards.

I guess people are motivated by rewards and promotions. Will be nice if user get a preset no. of points per thread, per post etc and that upgrades his permissions. Just a thought.

I find it a bit annoying to find boards here. We have recent posts sidebar as well. I am not implying globally collapse as some may find it useful. But just like in scripts where categories are collapsible for a particular user. May as a mod.
