@ptoothfish @jalefkowit I’m lucky enough that my TV still had one SCART port on the back. 🥹 under my TV is an Apple TV, a custom built mini gaming PC, and my original Sega Dreamcast from launch date.

for those of you that have a negative association with "the algorithm" can you explain what it is that you don't like?@liaizon My problem isn't with the existence of an algorithm, it's when the algorithm is used to foster engagement of a negative persuasion.
For example; my YouTube recommendations are an alogorithm and it's very useful for finding content to watch.
On the flip side; Instagram order comments on Reels + Facebook posts sorted "For you" and often they are negative views pushed to you so you feel the need to react or to respond to that content.

Give me advice on how to get people to sign up to a specific Mastodon instance AND get an app, rather than have to tell them to “go to oslo.town and sign up and then go to joinmastodon.org/apps to get an app then click the option in the app which is no...@jantzen @hallvors That’s not so easy. Most apps have really horrible sign-up processes. And if they have a nice sign up process, its because they point people to one server as default and the others are a login option.
Even the official #Mastodon app pushes a default instance and finding oslo.town is not only hard, but confusing if you dont even know the difference between Mastodon and oslo.town

Every family member I have uses Chrome on their mobile because “Google” and pretty much every family member has over 100 tabs open at any one time. And that’s not because they want 99+ tabs open. It’s because they simply don’t close them / practice tab... -

And that’s not because they want 99+ tabs open. It’s because they simply don’t close them / practice tab management.
Like, it’s a little frustrating that they all use Chrome, but even more frustrating that Chrome doesn’t have the option to “Close tabs after {days}” option.
