Hi Julian, so it sounds like our client needs to amalgamate the two emails into one so that the button to confirm is given?
They've repurposed the welcome template to have a really nice intro to new users and was conscious that the confirmation message may be lost among the helpful info.

In terms of what happens:

• User registers with email address as mandatory, opted in to emails too
• Admin approves user via the registration queue
• User gets welcome email but no confirmation email
• User has pending icon / X after 24h due to email not being verified.

Apologies Julian, just revisited the translations and can see that welcome.cta does have the confirm your email address prompt via the welcome template.
I think there was some confusion that came about as the template was heavily modified and so that was removed...

Hi all,

We're finding that the verify email template isn't triggering when approving users via the registration queue, whereas the 'welcome' email template will trigger as normal.
@Matthew-Price has seen that it's because the user doesn't actually exist until approved, so it looks like the email confirmation isn't triggering before being added to the approval queue.

Is this something you're aware of?

I may look at writing a custom plugin that hooks into the approve action to then force a confirmation email to be sent to the user in the interim.

@bh4-tech we're in the same position. We trialled ntfy and it isn't great for those that aren't tech savvy.
Users want a one-stop shop and the most painless experience.
We're being pushed by the fans over at Iron Heart for a solution so we're keeping a careful eye on progress here.

One small issue I've encountered; I have a forum where the URL is not at the base level (the client wanted to retain it like so due to many years of indexing) and so therefore the API call within settings fails due to it referencing '/api' as an absolute URL.

@Matthew-Price and I have just recently launched NodeBB for a customer of ours who specialises in Japanese Raw Denim. They've been using SMF (plus Tapatalk) since 2009 and we've successfully migrated all of their posts and users into NodeBB.
The theme is a modified version of Persona that we've customised to suit their branding, as well as some tweaks based on feedback from the customer and their customers.
Many thanks to the NodeBB team for the great forum software as well as the contributions and plugins by others, it has been positively received and a welcome change from SMF
