@thisismissem on reflection, this is a better post. I’m still glad you vented your frustration, but it’s also good you want and see a productive way forward.

I observe that BlueSky is having a moment and all I can feel is gratitude that folks are getting off the Elonverse.

The Fediverse is clearly not ready for mainstream and it’ll be a bit before I think it will be. I’m glad folks have a place to go to now.

We get the time to put up the infrastructure here that is required to welcome them with open arms when BlueSky inevitably collapses.

I’m not here to win a popularity contest, I want this to be a place for everyone, eventually, but for good.

I don’t have the words right now but the only way through this is standing together and looking out for the most vulnerable among us and doing the best we can to protect them and us and the planet, and keep doing things because they are the right thing to do, so that’s what I’ll be doing.

@anildash my only question is how can we make sure it’s not the only story folks joining the industry hear is a viable option to do anything?

I finally set up ElasticSearch with my Mastodon instance and I *still* cannot “search for things that showed up in my timeline”? I thought that was the one thing I could get out of this.
