@JamesJ Sir! I see what you did there. And that looks amazing that I complained about it over Skype for the past 3 min!
Why complain?

Hi guys,
I had a shocking amount of e-mails, which was pleasing actually.
At time time, we have found someone who will be working with us to get the plugins completed.
Thank you to all those who contacted me!
@Kowlin the fact is, the majority of our plugins add nothing to the actual forums. They're more targeted towards our game server, things that aren't designed for a forum.
However, we're using NodeBB to hook onto, so we're just adding pages.
I'm sorry, but we wont be releasing the majority of our projects open-sourced, due to the fact that they're branded towards our server -- not a forum.

@julian @JamesJ I'd urge you to consider the one Julian would like in core to be made open source. I wanted a better editor and as an individual bought a $500 OEM licence for the best one and donated it to the project so it could become part of core and improve NodeBB for everyone. I could have bought the cheaper licence and put the plugin into my own code alone, but that kind of flies in the face of open source, especially when the underlying tech that makes this whole forum work is free as air. I'll not push further, I just wanted to say it's maybe worth considering.
Don't worry, already working on something
I'm currently working on and NDA which will exclude the plugin @julian is talking about.
For a little bit of information, it's just general edit, such as adding temporary bans, reasons for all bans, reasons & notifications for when you delete posts / topics and reasons for Flagging posts for Moderation. That kind of plugins could fit any project
The other plugins wont. Especially the two main plugins. Which we will not be releasing.

@JamesJ Do you plan for your plugins to be opensource?
No sorry. We'll be asking any developers to sign an NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) as we're wanting these plugins to remain private and unique. Sorry if this puts anyone off the job.
Spoilsport.
Lol. Sorry.
Most of the plugins would only really suit us, due to the nature of the plugins.
@julian awesome!
It would be a great pleasure to work with the actual creators of the software
Hi guys,
I'm looking to hire someone who can create a few NodeBB plugins for myself.
We are looking for ~5 plugins, however they could all be put into 1 plugin if that makes it easier. We are paying for these projects, and a price can be negotiated when you contact us. We are looking to get these plugins done in the next few weeks, so if you are busy please do not contact us
We are able to provide a development machine if required by yourself.
If you are still interested, you can email me at contact [at] jamesj [dot] me with the title 'NodeBB Development Position' and I will read all applications. If I don't get back to you, I'm afraid we've found someone else.
TL;DR: If you're free over the next few weeks, want to make some plugins and make some money, email us. Thanks.
Thanks,
Lead Developer & Project Lead at DatPixel Entertainment.
P.S: If this isn't allowed, my apologies I couldn't see any rules stating this wasn't allowed.
I'm running v0.7.2
I'll check on my testing account.
Edit
Sorry, after checking through my group's permissions it has seemed to remove all those permissions. My guess would be that I recently renamed my group from 'Mod' to 'Staff'. I think a neat feature would be global permissions, so rather than me having to go through my twenty odd categories, applying all the permissions, I can just give site-wide permissions to a group.
Thanks anyways.
Hi,
One of our site's Moderators recently informed me that Moderators are unable to lock / sticky (and undo those actions) on our forums.
I'm not sure whether this is meant to be like that, however I'd personally like to let our Moderators lock / sticky threads as I trust them enough for that.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Bump....?
Thanks for all the replies,
I got it work, it was in fact to do with the markdown plugin (thanks @pichalite!)
I do have another issue however, the times are a little messed up on my forums. This was reported to me by one of our moderators as I hadn't noticed it. It appears that all of the times on the website are being shown as the machine's local time (which is located in Dallas, USA) so for me it shows "7 hours ago" even if I've just posted a topic.. You can see an example of this here, https://f.jamesj.me/3e4i
Am I meant to have a dependency installed (that I don't)?
Thanks
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I am 100% sure that I saved it as after 2 reloads a restart and me clearing my cache it still didn't work, yet the setting said it was enabled.
It's really strange, as if you go to https://forums.jamesj.me/ and hit 'Home' or 'DatPixel Entertainment' it shows you the warning page, any other link nope.
And yes, we are primarily a Minecraft server. Feel free to email me if you're looking for beta testers (you can get my email on my website [click my profile, then website -- I don't want crawlers :p])
Hi,
I have a HTML template that I'd like to use for my emails when a user has to confirm their account, however so far I have seen no way to actually implement this. I know I can change the text from /public/language/en_GB/email.json however this provides no way for me to add in any HTML (or does it?).
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
Hiya,
I'm currently making an external application/plugin (that will not run on the forums) that will work with the forums, and sync forum profiles with in-game profiles.
We are currently using MongoDB for our game-server storage and data, therefore have opted to use MongoDB for the forums too.
My main question is, we are looking for player's of our game-server to be able to dynamically register in-game with their email and a password, and it will then insert a document with that data into the collection.
However, I have seen no documentation on the collection structure, or even database structure.
Upon looking at the database from the command line, I can only see search queries and a collection called 'objects', when looking at that collection, it was honestly un-readable.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
