TODAY: The House is going to vote on a bill that would give the incoming Trump administration unchecked power to target civil society institutions that stand in the way of his authoritarian agenda.

H.R. 9495 would allow Trump’s Treasury Department to label any not for profit organization — think tanks, human rights groups, civil liberties orgs, universities, student groups, even Indivisible — a “terrorist supporting organization” and strip it of its tax-exempt status.

Democrats must confirm as many pro-democracy judges as possible before the GOP takes control of the Senate. Senate Democrats have confirmed over 200 pro-democracy judges, but there are still 32 more nominations pending.
