Maybe it's reason. Without any tweaking, my vps ( 3 wordpress like you) frequently run out of memory. You should create swap for your droplet and use cache plugin for wordpress.

OK, back to topic, how many method can I use CloudFlare with NodeBB?

• 1. Follow lenovouser , but your IP will not be hidden.

• 2. Upgrade to Enterprise CloudFlare Plan a lot of money
• 3. Use middleman as I said, I'm not sure it will work fine. (IP blacklist...)
• 4. Could you guys split one server to listen socket.io? one will serve others request, so we can hide main IP
• 5. ???? I'm thinking...

I don't like Flash, limited mobile viewing, heavy loading... and I'm curious why NodeBB require Flash? Maybe Any plugin cause that or it was implemented to NodeBB core?
And how can i remove it?

OpenShift is good choice,no need cc. Or you can use free tier of AWS Amazon (need cc be ware your billing)

maybe at this time only Akamai support websocket, but they don't business with small customer.
