Any advice for a JS noob to customize this script to use the "category term" IDs in RSS as Topic Tags?

Also, the ability to post the first entry in the RSS feed as a topic and then post the rest of the entries as replies would be great to generate content on a new forum. It will help increase search engine traffic and eventually active members.

I'll gladly donate $$ to whomever can help contribute to these requests. Thanks guys!

This RSS displays the first entry as the question that was asked and the rest of the entries are the answers that were posted.

@a_5mith That's what I thought too but I guess my RegEx was off. I created..

var iframeUrl and enter the regex expression

I also copied the post code from embedUrl and replaced all occurnces of embedUrl with iframeUrl.

The standard youtube links still embedded fine with the plugin but the ones from RSS feeds that already contain the iframe source didn't work. I'm thinking my regex was wrong.

Thanks for the reply. The RSS feed already includes the iframe/embed code so for some reason the YouTube plugin doesn't parse it. The result of the RSS post including a YouTube video is the actual embed code itself. The only way I've been able to get around it is by allowing HTML on all posts which isn't the safest thing

I actually was trying it with the Youtube-Lite plugin but was unable to find the thread on here. I've tried modified the REGEX expressions in library.js to detect the iFrame tags but no luck.

Thanks for the reply! The NFL season hasn't actually started yet so those scores are from last year. It's supposed to just display the teams and scores such as BAL 14 - DEN 24. When I put the link in the XML, it displays nothing. I think I'm going to try to find another RSS feed to test with since that one does look funky.

My goal:

Automatically start a new topic for each game from an RSS feed.
When the score changes on the RSS feed, automatically post a new reply with the updated score OR automatically edit topic when score is updated.

I saw NodeBB and how it loads new replies in real-time. I knew that would be perfect for game threads like that. Seriously though, since I saw NodeBB for the first time this week, it has inspired me to start learning Javascript so I can help develop plugins because I think all forums should update in real-time. Kudos to everyone that has worked on this!

I have the RSS Feed poster plugin and the feeds posts YouTube videos in iFrames instead of just a standard URL.

Example: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vzNErWJWxTo" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen=""></iframe>

How would I modify this YouTube plugin work with posts that contain YouTube videos in an iFrame tag?

First off, I want to say how amazing NodeBB is. I've used every forum software you can think of and nothing compares to the foundation NodeBB, simply because of the 'no refresh required' when reading topics such as a live game thread where hundreds of users are posting while watching the game.

Anyways, my question is simple for you I hope!

as an HTML widget and nothing displays. I tried your example RSS feed and it worked fine. How would I get the other URL to work? My goal is to have it update and display the current NFL scores.
