I agree with some of this, I don't think it makes sense for them to be producing SSDs when other companies have the scale and demand to reduce the costs the most. Hats, perhaps, I worry about some of the cheap and quick to market products that we've seen ... how much testing and after sales support for these things is there really?

I'd much prefer to see them innovating at the device level, updating the Pi0, CM5 and a new Pi500 with built in NVME support.

As for them making a profit, if this allows for increased investment in the core product line and (selfishly) support for their U.K. based manufacturing then I'm all for it and encourage it wholeheartedly.
