Everyone around me had a cold and I tried my best to avoid getting a cold 'cause I know I hard it usually hits me. I eventually succumbed and now I also have a cold like everyone else but worse.
There's a metaphor in there somewhere I guess.

S-see... I can be positive...
All this to say... we're doomed.
But also, care about your community, wherever that is, local or online, because that's pretty much all we have left
Honestly, the often ignored aspect of the political dissatisfaction of recent years is that the political landscape everywhere goes pretty much like this:
- The dumb as rocks "tough dads" and the smart but extremely evil neo-fascists on the right
- THE DUMBS... seriously... just complete brain-dead idiots on what was once called left-wing
Everybody who's smart, engaged and overall good... just quitting or never trying to get into regular politics ever again because it feels like a losing game
Happy to see many of the US democrats are already showing their ass claiming they need to move even further right by... huh... abandoning minorities LMAO
In Italy alone we elected a coalition of a party proud of its roots in the actual Fascist party, a party deeply in bed with Russia and a party founded by a guy with proven connections to the mob. Our head of Senate is proud to showcase his collection of Mussolini’s memorabilia. But wait, let me point and laugh.
Gotta wonder how some Europeans manage to maintain this moral superiority facade as if our electoral choices over the past 10-15 years haven’t been just as atrocious. We’re just less dangerous on a worldwide scale when we elect fascists.
It worked—I now actually call it “X” out of disgust.
I just wish Musk would die from non-stop explosive diarrhea
Can you deactivate a mastodon account or is it deletion or nothing?
Through my ignorance, I can think of a single election in the past 15 years where the left greatly exceeded expectations at the polls: Corbyn's Labour party in the UK. That was on a fairly progressive program. To a lesser extent, the recent French elections.
Every single other election, it was left wing parties trying to pitch "no change reformism" to people violently voting for any kind of change at all, and then failing to grasp why they lose every single time.
I’m all for finding responsibility in left wing candidates, but if someone can run on that kind of platform, using that kind of rhetoric and vocabulary, and that still doesn’t make them unacceptable in the eyes of the people… you can really just throw your hands up in dismay. And that’s happening pretty much everywhere.
Also, we're seriously beyond the "they came for the socialist and I said nothing" thing. That's too noble. We're at the "a wannabe oligarch screamed in my face he wants to be an oligarch and I couldn't even quit his shitty site" stage with some people.
Musk is the first outspoken rich guy in the West not satisfied with the usual de facto economic oligarchy our system gives to rich guys like him. Nope, he wants an all-around oligarchy where he and his pals can control every aspect of our society. The fact that he got involved with Trump and Trump promised him a position in the govt. is honestly the scariest part of Trump possibly winning.
For context: after pressure by US Congressman Ritchie Torres, Twitch decided that you have to "label" your streams if you discuss those topics and advertisers can choose not to run ads on your channel if you have that label on.
Twitch is not your friend. Dan Clancy acting like your friendly grandpa is not your friend.
@lashman not happening im afraid! Taste good, look like shit haha third time will be the charm
I'm making cookies for the second time ever and it would be rad if this time around I can't break windows with them like the first time... 15 years ago
Somehow we only remember that individual talent makes a difference when it comes to boosting HUGE names ego trips.
We buy books by an author we like, not a publisher, music by our favorite musician, not record company... and yet we keep going all shocked pikachu when a game studio who has lost or fired most of its talent starts making mediocre or bad stuff.
