@benpate Is this a bug or by design?@benpate Is this a bug or by design? Just posted a news item to @iamimperfect and although it's appeared, I would have expected the Summary to be in the content of the toot.
If the summary was there it would mean people who are following you on Mastodon don't need to go to your website to see what's going on, unless they want the full picture.

@benpate sudden thought while having a beer with @mgleadow.. -
@benpate hey Ben!@benpate I'd buy a domain today and use what's there right now if I could I've held off sorting a site for a year because they are just another thing to update but this could become the primary source, esp with all the Facebook hate right now
-
@benpate hey Ben!@benpate what you're creating is a front page for a band website. It ends up with all the things you need on there, with the added bonus of them being effectively subscribe-able for fediverse users. Obviously you could just host one yourself, but that is a significant cost/skill barrier for your average band :). Being able to have your domain name work for it, without that, might be a good paid for option

@benpate hey Ben!@benpate hey Ben! Are we able to point domains at artists pages? Or is that functionality that could be added down the line?
-
@benpate you need a bit of mobile optimization.@benpate you need a bit of mobile optimization. The artist pages are a bit all over the place on mobile and they will be the primary way people use it if you pick up!

@delanthear tell me more about #bandwagon.fm - sounds up my street@benpate @mgleadow fyi, I'm not seeing any of those items via Tusky when looking at @iamimperfect. Am I misunderstanding? Profile, icon and header image has populated though!

@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate Shall I raise feature requests as issues in github instead of here? (just found it there....)
-
@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate aaa no! I made that back when I first signed up. Duh.

@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate ooh, new bug. I just added "Old Wounds" and out of nowhere an unpublished version of "Reincarnate" just appeared. (I think. I might have just been hamfisted earlier)

@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate I mean, what you're building here so far is a complete band website replacement. It's pretty much combining Bandcamp, Linktree, Blog, Facebook, bandsintown all together in one place. Which is great, because we can't rely on any of those as a band. Adding a place to host a proper EPK for distribution would be good too.
The trick though is actually getting people to look at it!

@delanthear tell me more about #bandwagon.fm - sounds up my street@mgleadow bandcamp + linktr.ee + bandsintown come together in the fediverse! https://bandwagon.fm/@iamimperfect

@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate If you click on of the hash tags on our front page, it goes to the search with %23 in the url. That doesn't work though; you have to change the %23 into a # in the url for the results to come. It's a bug

@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate Re: event name, it's a interesting one. Might be worth looking at bandsintown or songkick for inspiration, but it's worth calling out the Festival name, or indicate who you are playing with because they are additional hooks to getting people interested. I suspect for Big Bands, the dates and location is all that's interesting, but for littler ones, other stuff bubbles up that is needed to get people looking.

@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate I've just realised that the #goth isn't working because of a bug. The home page link is linking to /artists?q=%23goth instead of /artists?q=#goth. Same for all the hashtags on the artist page.
9) About me section on profile needs a character limit indicator.
That's enough spamming you for now. It's all great though!

@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate 5) Are the date fields just simple text? Or are they being clever? When editing them, I'm never sure which way to put dates.... 2025-03-0, 03-01-2025 or 01-03-2025..
6) Will Events disappear off the front once the date has expired to keep it nice and clear?
7) The alignment of the different things on the front page is a bit higgledypiggledy which makes it look a little untidy. (Left alignment of Events, vs center alignment of new post) -
@benpate Some very random feedback:@benpate Some very random feedback:
1) Allow image uploads for flyers on events
2) The Personal Links control is a bit weird when interacting with the fields (They are blank, and you have to guess they are there!)
3) I tagged us as #goth. Clicking on the tag returns no artists. (batch build in the background?
4) Events need a "name" so if you are playing a festival -
Hey #Musicians, if you're on #Bandwagon, the time has come.@benpate Metal I'm not sure! I'll happily add a free image ad to it from https://thegothcalendar.co.uk if you like.
