@chris Pretty much. One of the most frustrating parts of current existence is the lack of vision and leadership to take us remotely close to a somewhat safe future. I heard some of it from Furstenau, and she has been unseated, while the Cons trumpet bidnuss as usual and drill, baby, drill, and the Dippers make noise but live out the Mose Allison thought: "Everybody cryin' peace on earth, just as soon as we win this war," while the laws of thermodynamics and species extinction continue to move implacably down the path of chaos and destruction...as we move cheerily into oblivion.

@chris unverified that busloads of vols were taken to clean malls full of transnational brand shops. Frightening...never waste a valuable crisis.

@chris The company you keep on the ferry has a pretty direct effect on the relaxation factor, some of that being the company you don't keep, because a bunch of crowding, boisterrous and noisesome travelling louts.

I was part of that wave, myself, arriving at Douglas crossing March 26, 1968. Not sure it will ever again be like that because of the nature of the relationship between Canada and other countries, and most particularly, because of the transcendent and all-encompassing nature of the polycrises.

@chris @Jade Grandma and Grandma went out for a romantic voting date this morning. I am inpressed with the flow of information about how, when and where to vote and how easy the whole process has been made. Folks at the polling station were cheerful, welcoming, thorough and efficient and we left feeling good about this aspect of our governing system.
