@wdlindsy
Obvious problem being "the media" are owned by the same people perpetuating and encouraging global warming. We're going to have to embrace independent media as a population to achieve any change of editorial stance, IMO.

"What Harris appeared to understand, better than anyone else who has debated Trump, is that the key to defeating him is to trigger him psychologically. She did it by repeatedly calling him 'weak,' mocking him, acting bemused by him, and literally laugh... -
How is it possible right now, at this minute, that the New York Times does not have a story up about Dick Cheney endorsing Kamala Harris?@mastodonmigration
OK. I kinda get your target, but I mostly don't. I didn't look closely at the account I was responding to: I do know you're one of the "good guys".Perhaps I'm too old and jaded? But I have very good reasons for my beliefs and attitudes: they're based on many years of observation.
So... nothing immoral that the NYT or any other form of corporate media does is "breathtaking". Nothing. Especially these days.

You're kidding, right? A few questions from someone not familiar with you. Are you a New Yorker? How old are you? How long have you been operating under the assumption the NYT is a pinnacle of journalism?Anyone paying attention has known the NYT is a mouthpiece for corporate interests... for me, since the 1980s.
Don't know where you've been, or what you do, but there is nothing shocking or new here. Nonetheless, congratulations on your journey of self discovery.

Welcome #Brazilians.I love it here. I connect with people all over the world here, finding all we have in common, and learning new things everyday.
No advertising, no corporate bullshit or manipulation. It is exactly what you and your fellow fediverse citizens make of it.

Been thinking some more about the Dana Bash CNN interview and one comment from yesterday by @libramoon stands out: "I thought it was an insult to the VPOTUS", they posted.It's a direct reflection of the disdain her corporate/billionaire overlords hold for our population (Citizens) and institutions.

So didn't see it, but read David Rothkopf's excellent summary in The Daily Beast.@mastodonmigration
It does suck. But I'm happy to see someone besides me pointing out that corporate/billionaire media IS NOT journalism. The sooner that reality clicks in the minds of our Citizens, the better IMHO. Thank you. -
"Whatโs been really striking this year is that while traditionally deep distrust of the mainstream press has long been the province of right-wing Republicans, now itโs liberals who once cheered for the media to do better who seem to be giving up on them."Done, and done. Last to go for me were The Guardian (US), and AP. stopped reading earlier this year when they jumped on the โBiden must goโ bandwagon. Very disappointing.
