@chris eventually they just asked me to do a placement test. I think it was because I was away for a year but I’m honestly unsure. It didn’t ask me for a placement either my German, so it is possible it’s something they do if you’re higher level and return after a while?

Now I’m curious…

I switched back to learning (maintaining) French on Duolingo and they ranked me at B1. I’d say that’s surprisingly accurate, actually!

I only took 4 years back in school and try to stay exposed to French through media and such. I hope to be able to push my level a bit before I have to take my languages courses for my degree next fall.

It was a choice between French or German and I think I have to stick with my OG second language.

Tried to track my ballot and it looks like GA simply elected to ignore my request for my mail in ballot…

And upon doing some digging online, this has happened to *thousands* of people like me in that state.

I called out a video on the Clock app and commented “ableist garbage” .. of course it’s removed within an hour for being ‘against community guidelines’.

I know I shouldn’t be on that app, I know, but there are so many excellent creators that only produce content there… so I lurk.

FWIW, my comment could have been so much worse — and it was the nicest comment of the few they got — so at least I know I wasn’t alone in my impression.
