And this is exactly why I don't trust #Bluesky over #Mastodon. -

HOW YOU GONNA BAN TPLINK FOR SEUCIRTY CAONCERNS BUT SOMEHOW DLINK STILL GETS TO EXIST AND STILL GETS TO SELL DECADE EOL'D BULLSHIT AT BIG BOX STORES?!@0x00string mikrotik also has a horrendous reputation and is being actively used in places that arguably compromise national security

So all my social media in one app. -
This is closing in 5 days.@thephd lengthof() is obviously the right name for this feature, as for requiring a header that seems fine

banana pi risc-v update: i knocked the board off my desk by accident and the usb-c connector broke off due to a weak solder joint@equinox both, it just needs to be reflowed with good solder instead of that RoHS shit

so apparently there is now a monstrosity called the dodge charger EVso apparently there is now a monstrosity called the dodge charger EV
here are my thoughts:
- it’s a coupé which is larger than a full size sedan (seriously it’s larger than my model 3 performance and it’s a coupé???)
- the base model costs $70,000+ lol
- my model 3 performance cost much less than $70,000 and has considerably better specs
- imagine having 800w of internal and external speakers dedicated to fake engine noisesi guess if it gets the divorced dads into EVs instead of trying to murder me with their brodozers every time i drive, maybe it will be useful for something
but no seriously, who is the target consumer for this thing. isn’t the point of a muscle car that it was a high performance car built out of cheap aftermarket upgrades? will boomers actually buy this thing? so many questions…

the urge to buy an iPhone resurfaces@cas it is at least worth buying one to study the user experience on imo

banana pi risc-v update: i knocked the board off my desk by accident and the usb-c connector broke off due to a weak solder joint(i will probably fix this later this week, but fixing it really requires hot air and i don’t want to set up my hot air machine right now)

i’m too lazy to fix it, so i soldered in leads from my bench power supply for now

without fail, within 2 weeks of experimenting with bluesky they make a catastrophically wrong moderation decision@matt @jima @gsuberland many of those same personas run the large fediverse nodes now though

the riscv board i’ve been talking about arrived last nightit will be interesting to see if spacemit pursue an out-of-order speculative design, especially if they do that without licensing imgtec's and mips' patent pool first
-
the riscv board i’ve been talking about arrived last nightall in all, fairly impressed with this SoC verses other risc-v SoCs i have in my collection (the milk-v pioneer featuring 64(!) alibaba t-head cores is still too slow)
-
the riscv board i’ve been talking about arrived last nightit also scores comparatively well with loongson 3a6000 (again only in a clock-for-clock comparison)
apple M series and AMD Zen 3 mop the floor with it though
-
the riscv board i’ve been talking about arrived last nightit is slow, but it is not as slow as i expected. for an in-order core, the performance is quite good, actually.
within striking distance for single-core IPC verses qualcomm snapdragon 8cx gen3, which is *impressive*
unfortunately, the qualcomm part runs at almost 2.5x the clock speed of the spacemit x60
