Left and right two satellite photos of a section of Rafah, Palestine. The first one shows a normal city with streets, blocks and buildings; the second, a flattened, dusty, bombed-out collection of ruins like Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

It's not actually a hard problem, even with classical AI techniques. But a lot of my colleagues think it looks too much like work.
You're welcome. People should talk a lot more about this, we're doing poorly on mental health. It's almost all down to coping strategies and/or someone who cares for us.
I am. Things is, I can tune out voices if I can't quite get what they're saying: if the speech decoder kicks in I'm fucked. Two or more voices in conversation? That's earphones and white noise time for me. Live music in the bus or train when I can't escape? Head banging freely against the window!
Is there such a thing as selective misophonia? As in I can't stand voices or music but natural or mechanical sounds are fine for me? Or I'm just an asshole?
(Yes, I am and I know it, as you do if you didn't block me yet.)
He's on one of those fediblock-happy instances. This is their normal behavior. You know what's gonna be my advice...
Offtopic: how's your dad doing?
Sure, we have lots of intelligence-amplifying devices. Drawing. Writing. Abacuses and slide rules and nomograms. Hell, even speech counts, it lets you network your mind with others.
They're entirely useless if you don't know what you're doing.
Large Language Models ARE NOT artificial intelligence.
Stop repeating their marketing jargon.
Counting the minutes until some bozo says "that could actually be useful for blind or distracted pedestrians".
1) and 3a) I don't think @JeremyMallin was talking about a coordinate system but more of a conceptual partitioning.
2) Even at warp speeds I'd expect a patchwork of local coordinates. The galaxy is much too big for using the central SMBH as a reference if you live one third of the way out.
3b) There are actual geometrical quarters... based on our Sun. The jokes write themselves.
Dunno. "It's there so now it's mine" looks like all the justification they needed.
Fuck @[email protected] and everyone who takes over a preexisting symbol for their shortsighted goals.
It's called asterism and it's*not yours*.
Go get the K_5 graph logo thingy approved by the Unicode Consortium if you care so much about recognition.
