@meltedcheese I think HVAC folks are still stuck in 1970 or so, technology wise...

The most effective way to clear CO2 from my house appears to be to crack open a window and run the dryer (either heat drying a load, or even just blower/air fluff).@meltedcheese Well, the actual challenge here is I really need to invest in an ERV to make this a more energy efficient fresh air exchange. My efforts at energy efficiency (which has been very good for dealing with heatwaves and keeping out wildfire smoke) means there is not as much fresh air leaking through random walls here. And, obviously, running the dryer (or the dryer blower) to clear CO2 from the house is a silly strategy.

(Pulls CO2 readings from 1000-1100 down to less than 540 while the dryer is running).

Head's up: people thinking it's funny to post pets-as-food memes as being funny and ridiculous, do it somewhere else.Broke one pair of glasses, bloody noses. Kicked and punched. Racist stuff may seem funny to some, but it's brutally real to kids when you're in fistfights with other kids about it. So... you may think pets-as-food is ridiculous and funny, but it perpetuates racist tropes and some poor kid somewhere is getting in a fight about it.

Having been in fistfights with other kids when I was a kid about my family's food heritage, it's not funny. Most folks are posting "this is funny, how could anyone think people eat pets, that's ridiculous" -- but the consequences of repeating those jokes are real, especially for kids.

The Post has collected more than 40 examples of Facebook removing emergency-related posts during at least 20 wildfires since June. The explanation: “you tried to get likes, follows, shares or video views in a misleading way.”

That's because of a new city solar energy program. Residents can now benefit from solar energy and Tesla power wall battery storage. It's free installation, with no credit check or no costs of owning the system. Some residents get a free wall charger for electric vehicles...." (NOTE: looks like just a "no out of pocket" solar install program, these folks end up paying a fixed maintenance fee + power costs + inflation... better to finance your own system, probably) https://abc7.com/post/solar-project-allows-pico-rivera-residents-affordable-energy-source/15275149/ #solarpower #solar #heatwave #CAwx #PicoRivera

79.0F in my neck of the woods right now.79.0F in my neck of the woods right now. About to try to pre-cool the house a little (to help the A/C keep up when it hits 105F today or whatever it ends up getting to), but noticed the CO2 levels overnight were very, very high... attempting to get some air exchange before A/C while temps are about equal inside/outside.
(the real fix here is an ERV - Energy Recovery Ventilator -- but that is a significant infrastructure upgrade. There are room-sized ERV options which install on a wall -- European style -- powered off a single A/C plug -- which would be a reasonable compromise, but would need a wall to install them on, and still $$)

Figured out (most) people I know are uninterested in trying home brewed beer or mead -- even folks who drink alcohol (Unsure on safety?Figured out (most) people I know are uninterested in trying home brewed beer or mead -- even folks who drink alcohol (Unsure on safety? Not a fan of non-professionally produced alcoholic products? Not adventurous in general?). Wondering what the Fediverse followers camp here fall into. If you're "No" not for non-drinking/underage/medical reasons, would be curious why (just to better understand this phenomenon).

Battering ram pushed through the window... this is not the home of the couple, based on the earlier news reports.... This appears to have gone from "missing from home with dementia" to "SWAT TEAM".
