Is there an option to allow/disallow users who have not confirmed an email address to post?

Does such a thing exist? Right now the forums require users to verify their email addresses to be able to post on my forums but I don't want that to be the case. Is the only way to disable this to allow Guests to post?

The only customization we've done to our forums is creating a unique authentication system that automatically creates accounts and links them to another service we run so it would be impossible for me to allow "guest" accounts to do anything.

Is there a way to allow non-guest accounts that have not confirmed their email addresses to post?

You can disable the feature 'require email confirmation' at /admin/settings/user
