Logo size

What size should an image logo be, so it will look good on a retina display device? Is the size of the logo set on the templates?

NodeBB automatically resizes the logo image to fit it's area. But still, I think it shouldn't be bigger than 400px (height) and 200px (width) for a smooth load.
