    The port 4567 is away in use, possibly do to nodebb already running. Google "how to kill process on port" and you should be able to kill whatever process is already running.

    @a_5mith - thanks! yes the front page logo is in the works and should be updated shortly.

    @julian - thanks! yes the official way should always be a native install, using LXC or Docker makes it simpler and faster to launch, and provides added flexibility in deployment, but there should be some understanding of how the components work together which a native install, which can be also be done in an LXC container like we do, gives users. We are definitely going to look at how we can integrate github into our current build process.

    LXC has been baking since 2009, was merged into the kernel around 2.6.32 and has been mainly developed by a team led by Daniel Lezcano, Serge Halyn and Stephane Graber. Its an Ubuntu supported project since 2012. Serge and Stephane work for Ubuntu. LXC provides container management tools and container OS templates. Here is a

    Docker was based on the LXC project untill 0.9 when it switched to its own engine libcontainer, though users can still choose LXC as the underlying container engine.

    Docker containers and LXC containers are a bit different. Docker uses containers to build an app delivery platform and abstracts the container away to an app, while LXC gives you a full Linux environment like a lightweight VM, with some caveats.

    However due to the low profile of the LXC project, a lot of users first introduction to containers may have been Docker, and there are some misconceptions and a lot of users will be surprised by the flexibility and usability of LXC without the constraints of Docker.

    [SOLVED] Need help creating a user in nodebb from php

    I'm trying to create a user via php to be recognized by nodebb authentication form. I do this via predis, so I can talk to redis via php.
    This is the relevant part of the code that creates a user in redisdb for nodebb in php:

    $redis->hset("user:".$usercount, "userslug", $user['user_name']);$redis->hset( - Pastebin.com

    But sadly, when I tried to login with such created account via php it didn't work and said "User does not exists".
    I checked all 'legit' userdata with my userdata created by php and I can't detect any flaws

    This is what I told php to create in redis, it's all verified and there:

    populate 'user:#' with 22 key's where # is uid populate 'email:uid' with user email and uid populate 'group:registered-users:members' with uid populate 'users:joindate' with 0 and uid populate 'users:joindate' with 0 and uid populate 'users:postcount' with 0 and uid populate 'reputation' with 0 and uid populate 'username:uid' with username and uid populate 'userslug:uid' with userslug and uid

    What am I missing :C??? I checked redis and the data is all their, but nodebb says the user does not exists

    EDIT: I checked the users tab in admin and saw that the username is there that was created from php. After I press the save button on the profile edit page of that profile, that account can then login! how strange. I'm going to do more digging until someone knows what i'm missing here.

    EDIT 2: I forgot slugifying userslug:uid in redis. Finally fix it 🙂
