Is it possible to install this on FreeBSD?
@LiQuiFY It's not officially supported. But this may offer some assistance. As long as FreeBSD can run node.js, you should have no problem setting up NodeBB.
Hope this helps.
@a_5mith Thank you.
I'm trying to install it now.
@a_5mith There is more to NodeBB than just node. I would be nice to see a FreeBSD, or simply BSD, guide somewhere.
A custom server? We do that all the time unless "custom" means something I am unfamiliar with 😁
Likely did not run NodeBB build step?
Refer to the documentation, it'll likely be in there. Link to Documentation
You probably could FTP the files to a location, but you'll need SSH to run the installer and start the app.
0.7.x - User can access site without port.
0.8.x with same config, user has to enter :4567 to access site.
The current steps outline how to compile the package yourself, however, they do now have a version for the raspberry pi, well, up to 0.10.26 anyway.
So might be worth changing the Debian NodeJS section with
You should see: v0.10.26
You should see: 1.4.3
Not sure if this helps or not.. 😆
