How to make upvote and downvote buttons more prominent?

Hi, I would like to change the location of upvote downvote buttons to display it vertically on side of the posts instead of how it is hidden by default.
How can I do this without breaking the site?

Following is the screenshot for reference. Whichever side is easier is fine. This should be possible, ya?
