I want to make a plugin to listen for clicks / opens on posts...
And I want to check the category...
how to do that?
On my new site, I have more bot-registered users than real users. The list just keeps growing by the minutes. Nothing to stop them.
I am writing a plugin that depends on another one.
So I have to make sure the depended plugin finish initializing(static:app.load), then I can start my init work.
Is there a way to do this ? thanks 😄
No built in way, but there is nothing preventing you from writing your plugin to use a config file instead of settings stored in the database.
When your nodebb starts instead of loading your plugin settings from the database you would read it from the file.
@HolyPhoenix Thanks for catching that typo (I edited my comment, just now). I had correctly tried @psychobunny 's approach without luck but then typed it incorrectly.
I found this post from @baris (https://community.nodebb.org/topic/5942/ajaxify-variables-get-deprecated) that says the .get('name') approach has been deprecated and that this style is current:
Reporting back. Using existing libraries, this is much simpler than I was making it. Here's some sample Python code which posts "Hello, World!" to topic ID 2. Thanks, @julian, for telling me about socket.io.
