How to get sub-categories to show in more of a "list" with the description showing after each one?

General Discussion
  • Right now, in the personna theme, the subcategories show in a 2-column table, and the description disappears from them. How can I make subcategories just indented under the main category, and show the description after each one??

  • Is this possible with just a CSS change, or is it more than that. Because the description is disappearing when making a category into a sub-category, I'm thinking it's more than just CSS.

Hey guys. I'm new to nodebb & really happy to found such a promising project but since i want a more specialized style than the default themes/skins i'm customizing the templates atm. I'm currently trying the get the hostname with no success. I googled around and found that I should use {url} but when I try to use it in the template of a plugin (nodebb-plugin-featured-topics-extended) i only get an empty string in the produced html. Somebody know a good way? I would like to dodge the bullet to dive deep into the source code 😱

Hi, first of all, I want to say this is such an amazing project. I really enjoy using it! Thank you!

So my question is pretty much in the title, I want normal registered user to be able to lookup existing categories and if it doesn't exist yet, allow him to create it.

I want the lookup experience just like the current tags lookup page here: https://community.nodebb.org/tags Filter possible results as user continue entering letters.

I think the creation of an category is can be easily accomplished with the write API, but is there already tools built for this lookup process? As a starting point I looked at the /api/categories/ and it's giving me too much info, I just want category name ...

Actually it was an update pushed in the last couple of hours which have solved the issue. At least on one of the plugins which I have tested. I hope it will be the same way on all the plugins. Thanks for your help.

@psychobunny Good timing and works well, thanks!

One issue i can see is that the button groups are mis-aligned with multiple groups. Tested on chrome, safari and firefox with a clean cache.
