The second one could probably be achieved with 3rd party tools already. The best one I can think of would be IFTTT. Each category has an RSS feed, therefore if RSS feed gets updated. Send email. Full IFTTT support would be great, I'm not sure how that would work, but being able to set up that sort of thing would be bloody brilliant. Maybe even baked into nodebb, so we can set up "tasks" similar to how stamplay.com works. Just with a betteR UI.
@360 said in Need help in installing NodeBB on Heroku:
SO UP UNTIL NOW - DISAPPOINTED FROM NODEBB
I was able to install it on to Heroku with this
Heroku - NodeBB Documentation
I did get some error here an there. Follow these two posts and check if you have encountered similar issues.
@PitaJ This sounds like it could potentially be problematic if it is left in the NodeBB repo .gitignore.
I cloned it straight from the github repo, newbies could be wondering why their heroku build isn't working. This could be useful info for the tutorial if it isn't on it already.
I was able to get around it by pushing all files to heroku git instead of mentioned files in documentations
So, instead of,
git add -f Procfile config.json package.json build && git commit -am "adding Procfile and configs for Heroku"
git add . && git commit -am "adding Procfile and configs for Heroku"
This solved my problem.
However, I have moved away from Heroku and deployed my forum on GCP.
