Upload GIF image in post?

I read older post on this site, saying from v1.19 GIFs could be uploaded
Im on current version (v 2.5...) and when I tried to load a GIF image in a post it failed saying
" Allowed types are: .png, .jpg, .bmp, .txt, .jpeg"
?

@eveh have you tried to change the settings at

ACP > Settings > Uploads ?

try adding .gif to the list...

alternatively, you can use "tenor gif" plugin...
