Favorite post looks confusing to me
-
I am wondering how the favourite button is supposed to work, and if there are more features that are planned to be added to it?
As far as I can tell, currently there is no way to actually view the posts you have marked as favourite. That makes me wonder, what user story is this feature actually trying to address?
If the objective is to show how popular and liked a post is, then the vote up is doing that job. If the purpose is to mark the thread or post for follow up, then watch is doing that.
Can you explain a bit about the design decisions behind the favourite feature, and if there are plans to improve it?

It's used to save posts that you wish to visit later on, think of it as "save post" or something like that.
Favourite this post, then click this link. You find the route to that page in your profile.
These sorts of things are hidden away in various menus and dropdowns. However gh#2167 would be a good place to mention this.

@a_5mith I don't know if that was a nice answer or clever strategy to gain some "Favourites" but thanks anyway
Actually, that was my other concern with the favourite action. At first I thought it was a way to endorse a post, specially because it has the icon. If it is only meant to be a bookmarking tool, we should probably change it's text and appearance to avoid confusion. Something like save or bookmark seems more appropriate here.

Haha. Time for me to hax, totally unacceptable that @a_5mith is gaining on me in terms of upvotes

@psychobunny hahaha, gamification working at its best!
Ok, I'll give free upvotes to everyone!

"Due to a bug, we've had to reset a_5miths reputation, everyone else is unaffected". I'm pretty sure something will implode if I surpass the reputation of the developers on their own platform.

Nothing imploded yet afaik.
more posts AND more rep
Let's be fair though, the guy spends 24/7 fixing my broken code, too busy to troll our forums

Ah also, apparently I do have the most rep. Damn, I'm feeling the love
