Tile over lapping issue
-
@meetdilip Did you ever resolve this problem? We're seeing this on our test install, and we're currently running latest master.
Out plugins are pretty normal IMO.
- nodebb-plugin-sso-google
- nodebb-widget-essentials
- nodebb-plugin-mentions
- nodebb-plugin-dbsearch
- nodebb-plugin-sso-github
- nodebb-plugin-markdown
- nodebb-plugin-twitter
- nodebb-plugin-topic-badges
- nodebb-plugin-color
- nodebb-plugin-youtube
- nodebb-plugin-desktop-notifications
- nodebb-plugin-soundpack-default
We have no sidebar, and it happens across browsers, across systems, and regardless if we're logged in or not.
Any thoughts?

I changed sidebar position from bottom to global sidebar. That solved the issue for me. But lately at times, the site fails to load completely and I have to refresh it. I too am waiting for 0.5x release. Have a lot in my wish list. Specially the front end loading issues and spam protection. We need a q&a plugin for registration.

@meetdilip, where did you go to change the position? Operating mobile presently, and if it's going to be a job for the Desktop I'll tackle it later.

Having configured a sidebar seems to have corrected my overlap issue as well.
Though the issue of Firefox zooming out from the tiles while Chrome fits them to screen is ever-present. -
@a_5mith, you're exactly right, issue solved.
Something regarding NodeBB's use of websockets, if I remember correctly?
I believe one of the admins mentioned a potential future update to websockets would allow for further backwards compatibility with older browsers, now that I think about it. Thanks for the help - sort of ashamed that didn't cross my mind on it's own, however. -
@Albus I trust the devs enough to be running latest on a live environment, but I've had (mostly) fantastic opinions on it, so it's time and effort well spent, plus thanks to a few fantastic users on here, I've got my next 10 months of hosting for free.
-
@a_5mith, if my users weren't so stubborn and skittish of change, I'd be doing the same. They're about to shift from a highly customized MyBB install, so I figure one major forum-shock should be enough. Especially since I'm still learning the platform.
Yes, I saw that referral link. Had you thought of including a $10 Promo code in your signature as well to really sell the deal?

@Albus You pay the hosting bill, change it however you like. That's what I did anyway, I went from this:
But I made them slightly happier by adding the lightbulb icon below the page width changing button. So they weren't too shocked,
