Second reading I could see that it might not have been. Maybe I already had a bad taste from the previous posts in the thread. Could be that you just had the bad fortune of jumping in after others had been trying to discredit me and you got (unfairly) lumped in with them.

But still, I don't think that justifies swearing at me.

@polotek Really I don't understand all the aggression. And that response was not directed at you, but it was at @mloxton 's dismissive comment.

But when I feel like people like @mloxton just is trying to discredit my experiences, I'm going to give him a canned simpleton response.

Also the people lying that I was kicked from servers etc.. that gave me a bad feeling for the whole thread. I've never been kicked from any server.

@polotek That is not what I was saying, I was saying that I have experienced lots of prejudice in my life and I think that comparing notes is helpful.

Also can you point out to what stance I seemed to have said?

I hate the knee-jerk reactions of others in this thread.

@polotek @mloxton I'm curious about why you would think that. Both that I'm incurious or that I haven't seen much? Also what is simplistic? I'd like to understand more about exactly what your seeing and to hear, but if I ask questions I got accused of "sealioning" (new word for me).

That being said, I've experienced quite a bit. Happy to expand if needed.

Also, what is my "simplistic way of viewing the world?". I don't think I've expressed my world view.

@polotek @mloxton My experience with the huge amount of anti-semitisim on mastodon, is that the best solution has been to confront it publicly.

But I do know that when prejudice is considered acceptable, it is hard to do anything about it. I know that people on this thread want to discount the prejudice that I've dealt with, especially in the tech industry.

I'm happy to discuss more, but the people on your thread seem to attribute to me ulterior motives.

@mloxton @polotek Exposing specific cases is usually going to be the best thing.

What do you suggest?

@polotek I grew up as a jew in a majority black city, also close to areas with active KKK, I have a lot of experience with prejudice
