Oh great. Will have to be patient while waiting for the DNS records to propagate, but in the meantime, I got off a snottogram about how Krystal were going downhill regarding service, while also thanking the technician for resolving the cock-up very quickly.
He's sent my fury up the food chain anyway, and probably recognises they were to blame, as they've credited an account I have no intention of using again with £20. -
Oh great.@bloor @srtcd424 @beasts @aaisp On a recommendation like that, who am I to quibble?
Re the second part, careful, as I'll scare you with a request, and when you see where we are, on an ancient and barely functioning Openreach platform, and the cost to you of providing service, (it's one of those "we can charge resellers extra" exchanges) you'll probably run a mile! -
Oh great. -
Oh great.@bloor They've gone downhill really fast. No idea even how to phone them, unless it's a sales call. They have at least responded, so I'll see what reply I get in the next half hour.
I'll be coming back here in a while to ask for recommendations for domain registrars, though. -
Oh great.Oh great. Krystal hosting, through whom I keep my domains, has just unilaterally killed my DNS records, saying I don't have a hosting account with them. They've doubled their prices recently and are now just trouble.
Not sure how to resolve (no pun intended) this one. No email, no access to websites, xmpp, etc.
They seem to have an alternative way of managing DNS records, but haven't enabled it. It's all pretty pathetic.
Guess what I'll be doing today. -

OK, how's this.2. I was looking at how the cost of panels had dropped. Cheapie 400+ watt panels can be had for under £100 each. But the companies in Englandshire want over £300 for delivery.
But we managed to find a supplier would had much better quality panels at a much higher price, but only £40 for delivery. So we ended up quids-in and with better quality.
Fitting starts next week, I hope.

OK, how's this.OK, how's this. We did some basic solar updates to our off-grid system when we settled at The Last Homely House permanently in 2008. 2x 200w panels cost £700 delivered.
In 2015/16 we really needed to update the system, so added 4x 250w panels, at a cost of - you guessed it - £700.
I now want to extend the solar season a bit more, so ordered 2x 400w panels, but this time with 2x 50A MPPT controllers, one for the old, one for the new. Cost? Go on , guess.
