@wdlindsy the suffering is immeasurable of course, I don't think this is a good strategy because it basically means giving up and letting evil people do what they want, but it is strategically interesting how these evil entities are on the verge of collapse at the same moment that they achieve the goals they've held for half a century. It would sure be nice if the masses would rally and see the evil and stop it before it killed millions instead of after.

Jamelle Bouie thinks that, when it comes to the abortion issue, "Donald Trump is stuck."@wdlindsy we've seen sort of an implosion of politics over both abortion and Israel: the GOP finally stacked the court and overturned Roe, and now what do their single-issue conservative moms have left? Trans people? Taxes? The GOP is campaigning on "mass deportation," is that really a mainstream top issue?
Israel finally got a self-proclaimed Zionist president who let them go gloves-off unlimited bombing and their state (and ours) may not survive the naked genocidal mania.
Smells like decay.

Jamelle Bouie thinks that, when it comes to the abortion issue, "Donald Trump is stuck."@wdlindsy I often think about how sometimes the best thing you can let your opponent do is get the thing they want / succeed in their short-term goals. Especially when the battle is so psychological, what will they have left? The reality of the thing itself isn't so great.
What really sucks is the millions suffering as a result while we gin up our ranks to make things better, though.

As a teenager in Neustrelitz (East Germany), I painted small stones purple and left them all over town.@f00fc7c8 @fesshole absolutely. I'm not sure if it's propagandists per se, at least I don't think it started that way. I think it started with snarky 140char internet sarcasm: you can't fit much nuance in that short space and wry "internet humor" dominated Twitter especially. Add in Gamergate, feminism, and the outrage machine and you've got a belief that you need a "three minutes hate" of fighting enemies online for the cause.
Arab Spring and "influencers" came later, and solidified it all

As a teenager in Neustrelitz (East Germany), I painted small stones purple and left them all over town.@f00fc7c8 @fesshole thanks! I'd be remiss to not include another biggie for undoing radicalization and prejudice: https://www.vox.com/2020/1/29/21065620/broockman-kalla-deep-canvassing (TLDR: firsthand face to face experience trumps propaganda and prejudice almost always. So if you can get a person having a positive human connection with, say, a trans person, any weird ideas they had about trans people will start to melt. This is one way that acceptance of gay marriage did a 180° in just a few years.)
