2017: Peter Thiel reportedly told friends Trump administration is "incompetent" [1]@[email protected] the robber barons think they're taking over and if they are that isn't good either but the question is whether they can actually control Trump. Not to say Trump is going to do anything close to similar but big money also thought they'd be able to control Hitler.

Wait...replies to Threads users are now public?@[email protected] yeah it is a good step forward and it seems like it's in already. I'm guessing they're not visible without logging in since I could not see it on the web interface myself though.

Ozone, Bluesky's stackable moderation system is up and open-sourced. https://bsky.social/about/blog/03-12-2024-stackable-moderationI think it's interesting in obvious ways and risky in some less obvious ones (that have less to do with "O NO BILLIONAIRES" ...@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] I appreciate the distinction but I also feel like there are so many examples of getting burned when a company starts with something good and switches it up later that we should probably give at least some weight to what they are saying their intentions are too.

Their documentation reflects this philosophy in parts too. Maybe they should come out and say it isn't their goal anymore if that is the case?
