@jalefkowit I must admit, I did not expect to hear such a banger from a band called Mannequin Pussy

Your client demands you give them a WYSIWYG editor. Now you have ten billion problems@jalefkowit "That request is outside the scope of the original contract, and will require negotiation of a new one".
*at new contract negotiation* "So this is going to cost you approximately eleventy-million dollars and take 76 months to implement"

Been craving something else like Elite: Dangerous lately. The most ideal solution to my problem would be the ability to run the E:D server locally so that I could just play elite without needing an internet connection to be on at all times. But Frontier didn't make the game that way, because the "background simulation" is too important to their vision for the game. But I don't give a fuck about the background simulation, I just want to blow up rocks and other ships, fly around space, do some trading, explore a bit maybe. That can all be STATIC!

Been craving something else like Elite: Dangerous lately.Anyway, I have determined that there is no other game that gives me the things I actually like about Elite Dangerous in a quality I am willing to pay money for.

Been craving something else like Elite: Dangerous lately.Been craving something else like Elite: Dangerous lately. Preferably single player but I was open to ideas. Anyway I made the mistake of thinking about Star Citizen. Luckily I watched a video of the current state of the game, and it was bug, bug, physics bug, bug, bug, physics bug, bug that autocompletes your mission, bug that causes enemies to be invulnerable, bug that causes things to fall out of your cargo hold when you try to close the door (this is also a physics bug). No thanks.

"Cameron Yaste, commanding officer of the destroyer USS John S. McCain, was removed Friday 'due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command the guided-missile destroyer,' according to a Navy statement...@jalefkowit Totally fair tbh. A person in his position should have been to the rifle range many, many times, and know pretty much everything there is to know about using that weapon. This photograph indicates to me that he was probably pencil-whipping other important trainings as well.

Adding "Bell Riots" to my list of filters. We get it, you watched Star Trek@jalefkowit I don't know what they do, but I feel like my life would be more complete if I had several crates of them.

Adding "Bell Riots" to my list of filters. We get it, you watched Star Trek@jalefkowit Everybody always wants to talk about the Bell Riots. Star Trek had way cooler stuff. Like a little statue you carry around that tells the people near you "I am horny and have low standards". Or a handheld scanner that gives you information on whether those mushrooms you already ate were poisonous or not. Or currency reverting to being based on precious metals.

I said here a couple days ago that the question wasn't why Trump staffers assaulted a staffer at Arlington Cemetery who got in their way. It was why the people who assaulted that staffer weren't arrested.@jalefkowit The Army seldom actually takes care of soldiers or civilian contractors who are wronged or harmed while on duty. You're told to "Suck it up" and "Get over it" because they don't want you to make more work for them by insisting on your legal rights, and in many cases your human rights. That's the kind of organization the US Army is.

The second item on here legitimately made me laugh out loud@jalefkowit That wiring job on the otherwise pristine 63 Impala made me ill. You just have to not care even one little bit to get that kind of spaghetti job.

Less than 30 minutes into Starfield, the game informed me that I was The Chosen One.@jalefkowit In Starfield's defense (but only just a little bit) you immediately join a group of other chosen ones after that. So you're special for like, an hour, tops, and then you find out you're only as special as several other people, all of whom are smarter and richer than you.

If you want to see exactly how not to engage an #OpenSource community, a bunch of suits from SLB (formerly Schlumberger) has a master class on the Apache legal mailing list. Top of the thread is here: https://lists.apache.org/thread/gzdxx6ldfkp40m1j7j9...@webmink "We don't seem to be successfully communicating with each other." About sums up the entire conversation lol

Every time I buy shoes I buy the size that feels right in the store, and it's not until after I've worn them for a few days that I realize I should have gone half a size higher.@jalefkowit Do you use the slidey foot sqeezin ruler thing?
