Here, making a superapp would seem very appropriate. Developers could make a Fediverse host app with the ActivityPub protocol and common features to the app (notifications, messaging, ...) and developers of each platform or third party developers could make the child apps (mastodon, Pixelfed, loops, ...). They would only take care of displaying the feed in a different way while the superapp takes care of the everything around that, the UI, settings menu
