Gonna say it again: Don't let your Twitter account sit unused. The Fediverse isn't corporate owned. Not yet. It's also doesn't offer E2EE.
Yes I'm posting my face. My real name. Yes I've identified the city, county and state I live.
I'm a fool. Learn from me.

I think they actually removed the ability to delete it. Andrea looked this morning and she could only "deactivate" it.
She wasn't using it and now it seems like she can't even close it out.
Deactivate it. Delete it if you can. Sure set up a Bluesky if you need a corporate-owned, crypto-backed, capitalist social media account for some reason.
Never post your real name, or your face on Bluesky either. Go back to the early 90's rules for the information super highway. Don't post identifying information online unless it's E2EE.

Should it be possible applications using the Mastodon OAuth APIs to be able to request access to your email address?@thisismissem My question is: Why would they need my email address? What would it be used for?

straight from the "this teams meeting could have been an email" department (on what is a grey and rainy day here); This reminded me of you, @killyourfm

Steam has updated their Steam Subscriber Agreement to clarify (possibly due to the recent law that passed in California) that your purchases are licenses to access games and media on Steam. You don't own anything on Steam.Steam has updated their Steam Subscriber Agreement to clarify (possibly due to the recent law that passed in California) that your purchases are licenses to access games and media on Steam. ”But Mastodon also has [...] a lot on its plate including integration with Threads“It's lines like this that makes me completely unable to take those calling for a hard fork of Mastodon seriously. All Mastodon do for Threads is the same they for any fed...@thisismissem Regardless of what they offer... many of us don't want anything to do with Meta. Or Twitter. It's a poisoned chalice as far as many of us are concerned.
