@silverpill
>search for posts by greentexting
I kneel, keep this in please :kaibascream:
@silverpill how exactly does Mitra's search work? I can look up users easily but I can't seem to search posts using a simple keyword. Admittedly I've had this same problem on my Pleroma instance, so maybe I'm doing something wrong regarding search functionality in general.
@silverpill @sun Given the interest in it shown by state actors and industry, I suspect the stabilization will happen sooner than later. These two groups have deep pockets and an even deeper need for stability due to their historically sclerotic track record in updating old systems. God willing this means more than one compiler implementation can be made as well.
>For me it makes things easier because it takes care of many minor tasks and allows me to focus on what is actually important
Could you elaborate on this? I'm curious given I've repeatedly heard the opposite as a common complaint against Rust. In particular regarding the compiler being fussy.
I keep trying to add pics related as emotes but keep getting an emoji is too big
error. I have emoji_size_limit: 10M
in /etc/mitra/config.yaml
. These are 641kB and 347kB respectively. What am I doing wrong?

@silverpill Didn't find too much so far save for a ton of duplicate key value violates unique constraint
errors. The strings related in grep were the most common occurrences. I don't know if that's specifically related to it, anything off the top of your head I should be looking for in regards to postgres aggresively caching?
Also slightly unrelated, but according to PGTune I should be serring my shared_buffers
to 4GB lmao
@silverpill also mad respect for running your instance on only 512MB of RAM. What distro are you using?
@silverpill Good morning! Here's what mitractl instance-report
spits out. Also as of now 925MB of RAM is being used, almost all of it being postgres processes.
Edit: Added the htop screen
716MB now, here's the details
690 now, majority Postgres
Nevermind we have reached 500MB
Good news it has stabilized there. Kind of wondering if it'll reach 1GB again.
Memory usage still climbing pretty steadily, we're at ~450MB now. Most of it seems to be from postgres going my the MEM% sorting. My guess is it's the cached media from browsing on the TL.

Addendum IV: Custom spoiler images like on Pleromer would be cool
Addendum III: Being able to have multiple pictures without them being fully rendered and needing to scroll down a long post to see them would be cool (see: how pleromer has a little box with thumbnails for the pics that you click on)
@silverpill @mint I'm getting ~1.6GB. In any case I recall the media folder was the one that blew up like crazy while I had relaystalker active. Is there a way to only fetch announces from relays?
Addendum II: Polls and scheduling posts would be nice too
Addendum: Would be nice to have standard unicode emojis selectable as reacts
