Here is my list of pastry and chocolate shop recommendations:

@[email protected] Okay, here we go. The best chocolate pastries I had while in Paris, and coincidentally the best chocolate pastries I have ever had anywhere, were at Jean-Paul Hevin. They also have excellent chocolates, and other great things, too, but it's the chocolate pastries (les petits gateaux) that are the special magic thing here. The Tonka is my personal favorite, the Pomme de Terre is worth it just for the visual (and also delicious), but everything is great.

(I would also LOVE to highlight the Palais de Tokyo but you said you're kinda full up on museums. Actually that being the case let me mention the "Museum of Open-Air Sculpture" which is a whole section of the left bank of the Seine with I think even a couple playgrounds so maybe perfect for a family where the parents want museum but can't overdo it!)
