There was a saying on Usenet in the 1990s: Do Not Feed the Troll

It seemed to work pretty well, and was a thing into the message board 2000s, but it feels like in the corporate/mass social media era that followed it was forgotten and people either engage trolls or express their angst and hurt about them (thus feeding them).

Luckily I don't see any trolls around here (I may be lucky, and prob not a good target for them)
