I see your point, but that doesn't feel the same as a truly centralized system - alternative "big accounts" can arise & be used/recommended *without* users needing to migrate to a new system and lose/recreate social links, & no middleman is able to control association.

It's a different kind of centralization where (it seems to me) the vast majority of harm is mitigated.

But you clearly know and think about this much more than I do - maybe I'm missing something?

@stefan @zachleat Ooh, caching is a good point - I'd cleared my CDN's cache, but didn't consider that Mastodon itself might have a cache. Thanks!

@zachleat looking forward to when I can get it working! I've copied/adapted tags from pages that it worked for (and updated my allowed domains), but no luck. It's not clear from the article whether it's your home server or the server that you view the post on that needs to be on the latest version - but that's my best guess.
