I'm making a video about worldbuilding for DnD/TTRPGs: discussing how the contemporary effects are more engaging than the dry historical facts, so I'm looking for fun examples.
I've got the M8 and how it cuts the city in two, the art school fire which displaced a load of students and made Sauchiehall Street somehow more of a mess, and the compulsary cone on the Duke of Wellington!

@emsquared under my benevolent dictatorship fireworks will be banned entirely.
They are absolutely hellish for animals (both pets and wild ones) and for a lot of people too. Someone's wish to watch something go boom does not override other's right not to be traumatised.
I'll consider allowing tasteful laser shows along with bonfires.
For my next decree... people who don't thank bus drivers shall be added to aforementioned bonfires.
