I'm currently running a test NodeBB forum on a Microsoft Azure B0 instance (shared core, 768MB RAM) with Ubuntu. I host a small gaming community with about 50 members.

I have put in a mailer plugin, and when I get a verification email, it sends me to (localhost:4567) instead of (droidbotgaming.ga), due to the setup that I have with my firewall (traffic on 4567tcp comes out on 80tcp instead).
When I configure config.json with port 80, it doesn't allow me to access it with port 80 tcp forwarded.

Fixed this issue. When you run NodeBB from the console using ./nodebb start, it realises that the Redis that Ubuntu installs by default isn't compatible with NodeBB, and exits. Install the Redis update by:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:chris-lea/redis-server

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install redis-server

Then start NodeBB.

It should start. Have fun
