Thinking this morning about how many little things are stacked against people without sufficient money.
I accidentally let my backup checking account slip below the minimum balance and got charged a $5 monthly service fee.
When I was younger, that service fee was just part of life. Less than a hundred bucks in the bank, and the bank takes $5 of it. But now, when I can most afford that $5, the bank's, "Nah, we're good."
When you don't have money, they take more of it than when you do.
