Patiently waiting for landscaping and leaf blowing (blowing rocks actually because desert) to wrap up so I can try thinking again.
@sungo I just improvised something with a keyboard tray, using a couple small flat boxes as spacers (~1" gap). It works well enough – I or more accurately the cats have weight-tested the keyboard tray before. I know I want a safe persistent solution.
@sungo Yeah as I was rereading my followup it occurred to me that most of what I've seen are slightly tweaked trays or folder holders. Heck I might even have one of the latter floating around.
All else fails I might pick up a couple old school stacking inbox/outbox trays.
I got my work laptop and I got my personal laptop. Both nearly always in clamshell mode.
Any #LazyWeb folks got ideas for something like a mini-rack setup such that the laptops are in close proximity, but heat and cable chaos are addressed?
This is an obnoxiously frivolous thought, but we're talking Apple device workflows, where "obnoxious" and "frivolous" can be considered selling points.
NOTE: I do not own a 3D printer, and getting one would mean I now have new problems.
@kusuriya @Wrewdison @thegibson @nathans dangit I mixed up the order again.
Would somebody mind sending a rescue team to the bridge? Yeah, the one on fire. Cool, thanks.
Also, does anybody need a silo full of salt?
Brain ready to tune in properly to work.
BRRRRRRRZZZZZZ
Landscapers with impeccable timing as always.
For my part I'll be reading and occasionally responding to toots relevant to the holiday, but unlikely to boost them.
Least I can do if my friends out here are anywhere near as anxious as me. No need to spread it around.
Wishing everyone a very happy Keyword Mute day.
@bitprophet @jack I am obligated to brain today, but other than one anxious thread where folks acknowledge they have voted and are anxious, it's pretty much a normal Tuesday on Slack.
@nebkor Nearly forgot to mention one important aspect of the split. I've got it set up so my primary system gets 2/3 of the monitor, and secondary gets 1/3.
But 49" curved arranged vertically would still be cool, despite the inevitable neck strain.
Thank goodness I get to obsess over work stuff tomorrow instead of paying attention to the actual world around me.
@malanalysis @catsalad FAFO is the high level overview class for non-majors.
@WuMargaret I was named after my uncle, who by all accounts was pretty cool.
Most folks called me by name, though there have been recurring descriptives like “goat boy over there”
And I’d just glare and finish chewing on the soda can.
@WuMargaret Closest I got to a nickname in school was when folks kept misspelling my name as "Brain" and then just kinda shrugging when i tried to correct them.
Somedays I'm The Brain. Some days I'm Pinky. Most days it seems I'm both, locked in eternal combat for control of the human suit.
@danderson dunno how much you're into turn of the century alt-folk, but this immediately popped into my head:
@benbrown remember to have some water occasionally and the sky's the limit
ignore the muffled shouting. I have not forcibly restrained any nutritionists. There is nothing to see here. Go enjoy your pretzels.
@benbrown wait I assumed we were talking about giant soft pretzels. For hard pretzels, eight bags.
